About Sudbury Garage Door
My name is Doug Wood and I am the owner of Sudbury Garage Door, a business started by my father Bob Wood back in 1990. My Dad retired in 2002, but the business he began retains his traditional values of hard work, reliability, and attention to detail. He passed this on to me and I bring the same values to every garage door service call and installation.
Taking care of homeowners is our specialty. I personally perform all the installations and service calls. I pride myself on reliability and am always available for any questions or maintenance after the installation. Working primarily in the Sudbury, Lincoln, Wayland and Weston area I have come to know many people throughout these communities. As a result, word of mouth has been my best form of advertising.

Safety
Your garage door is the largest piece of moving equipment in your home. When properly maintained it can provide years of trouble free convenience. If not maintained or used improperly your garage doors can become a hazard to you and your family.
SPRINGS
Torsion and extension springs and attached hardware are under extreme tension when your doors are in the down position. Tension must be released from springs before any work is performed on the springs, hardware, or bottom cable brackets. Only a professionally trained service person should relieve the spring tension.
DOOR SECTIONS
Do not attempt to close a garage door by placing fingers between the sections as a place to grab onto the door. The lift handle or a pull rope should be the only method of opening and closing your garage door.
Older Garage Doors without Safety Cables
Over time tension springs become fatigued and are prone to breaking. This can be quite violent and can damage your vehicle or cause injury to someone in your garage.
Sudbury Garage Door installs safety cables inside the length of the spring to prevent broken springs from doing any harm.
This safety cable is mandated by code on all new garage doors, but many older doors to not have this important safety feature.
